Job Title: Lube Tech
Starting Pay: $18.00/hr
Hours: Full time – ~40 hours per week. Days and hours vary.
Wage: Depends on experience. One week paid vacation after one year.
Some mechanical knowledge is required but employer will provide training for the right candidate. No drivers license is required for this position.
A lube tech’s job description at Fly In Lube & Wash entails changing oil, lubricating and performing minor repairs on cars, pickups, motor homes, and semi trucks. A lube tech checks that tires are inflated correctly, replenishes vehicle fluids and lubricates joints and fittings as needed. Other lube tech duties might include cleaning a vehicle’s interior, replacing wiper blades, and keeping up daily maintenance of the lube shop, pits, and a 6-bay self-service car wash.
This work requires good dexterity to use tools and requires a lot of standing and bending to work on vehicles. The garage environment presents risks that can lead to cuts, strains and other injuries, so an attention to detail and a focus on safety are crucial for lube techs.
